The Order Calls Your Name
By The Order of the Unseen Way
Until now, a pact could be sworn against you and you would never know until you next opened the app — and an unanswered call lapses after two days. The Order has fixed that. When a pathfinder calls you out, your phone tells you, and tapping it takes you straight to the pact to accept or refuse.
New in this patch
- The call reaches you. A challenge, an answer to your own challenge, the verdict when a pact settles, and a last word two hours before a window closes — each one finds you wherever you are. Tap it and you land on the pact itself, not on the front door.
- Answer in your own tongue. Every word of it arrives in English or Romanian, chosen per device — so two pathfinders sharing an account each hear the Order in their own language.
- A quieter Order, if you wish. Notifications remain one switch in Settings, and that switch now governs these too. Turn it off and the Order holds its peace.
- A shorter road in. The welcome now asks you to forge your hero on the very first turn of the page, then shows what waits: the six kinds of quest, the gear and relics and streaks, the pacts and the Ledger. Four pages, not a lecture.
- Five new airs for the road. Windswept, Celtic Impulse, Fiddles McGinty, Folk Round and Ossuary 6 — Air join the music of the Order. Eighteen pieces now, and the app is 35 MB lighter than before them.
- Every maker named. Settings now carries Credits & licences — the composers, the sound-smiths and the type-founders whose work Outdare is built on, with their terms beside their names.
Fewer plain walks
Pathfinders told us the walking felt repetitive. The Order has re-weighed the commissions: plain step-counting quests are cut by about two-fifths, and the timed sprint takes their place — up by half. The total time you spend on your feet has barely moved, because that was never the complaint. Walking became running; the outdoors did not shrink.
Small mercies
Your Lineage has moved to Settings, where inviting a fellow pathfinder belongs — and it keeps a door on the Companions screen, since that is also where a newcomer redeems a mentor’s token. The Character screen has lost a Quest Log button that only went where the Quests tab already goes, and its details page now opens the same profile card other pathfinders see of you.
Android pathfinders: the app will offer the update itself. iPhone pathfinders will find the new build on TestFlight.
Walk well, pathfinder — and answer when you are called.
