The Wayfarer's Pact

By The Order of the Unseen Way

The Order has long held that the Way is walked alone — but never only alone. From today, any pathfinder may bind another to a challenge: quests sworn, a window set, a prize at the end. The pact board opens on the Companions screen.

New in this patch

  • The Rival’s Gauntlet — race a rival. Challenge any pathfinder from their profile, a friend’s card, or straight off the Ledger. First to complete 5 quests within the shared 24-hour window claims the prize; the race ends the moment someone does.
  • The Wayfarer’s Pact — swear it together. You and a companion must EACH complete 5 quests before the window closes. Both finish, both are rewarded. One falls short, the pact is broken for both — that is what makes it a pact.
  • The Company Trial — bring the whole party. Call two or more companions into one shared trial. Everyone who finishes claims the prize; one dropout cannot spoil it for the rest.
  • A Vow to Oneself — challenge yourself. No rival yet? Swear a solo vow: 5 quests in 24 hours, witnessed by the Order, rewarded on completion.
  • Rivalries remembered. The Order keeps your record against each rival, and every verdict arrives as a tiding. Lost? “Run It Back” re-issues the same pact in one tap.
  • Prizes that honor the Way. Victories pay bonus experience toward your rank titles and Copper into your purse. The public Ledger still moves only through the quests themselves — a pact sharpens your legend, it never buys your standing.

Beneath the surface

The quests inside a challenge are your ordinary commissions — nothing about how you walk changes. The window starts when the pact is first taken up, invitations lapse quietly after two days, and a challenge from someone unwelcome can simply never reach you.

Update the app to see the pact board appear among your Companions. Android pathfinders: the app will offer the update itself; iPhone pathfinders will find the new build on TestFlight.

Walk well, pathfinder — and choose your rivals with care.
